Two very different traditions of care sit behind this collection.

C.Atherley works from a greenhouse in Gloucestershire, growing and distilling geraniums into hand and body washes, creams and lotions - the range named for the founder's maternal grandmother. The newest scent, Geranium No. 4, took two years to develop: a blend built around Attar of Roses, with cedarwood, rosemary, corn mint and spikenard underneath, in a 97% natural formula.

Antica Barbieria Colla has been Milan's barbershop since 1904, still run by the Bompieri family. Its Almond Shampoo dates to 1924 - the product founder Dino Colla is best remembered for, made from an oil valued for its softness on skin since almond trees first grew across Persia, Mesopotamia and Palestine four thousand years ago. Beard oils, aftershave milks and a hard shaving soap follow the same logic: formulas chosen for what they do rather than what they claim, made in Italy, largely unchanged for decades.

Between a Gloucestershire greenhouse and a Milanese barbershop, the throughline is patience - nothing here was formulated quickly, and nothing here is designed to need replacing every season.
