About Côté Bougie
In 2003, Saida Kadiri left a career decorating children's bedrooms in Casablanca and started making candles — first for her own house, with whatever pots and pans she had. Two years later her son Omar joined her, and Côté Bougie has been a family business in Marrakech ever since. The candles are hand-poured: soy wax, Italian cotton wicks, recycled glass. The fragrances are composed in Grasse and chosen to read as Morocco — citrus, spice, cedar. The vessels, including the olive-green ceramics of Tamegroute, are made by Moroccan artisans.

Oriental - cinnamon, sandalwood, cedar, musk. Warm and lightly spiced; a scent that settles into a room rather than announces itself.
The diffuser is dressed in raffia crocheted by hand in Morocco - traditionally by women working in cooperatives - the lattice left open, the natural raffia undyed. The fragrance, composed in Grasse, rises slowly through the reeds by capillary action: no flame, nothing to tend, only a scent that stays in the room.
Two sizes - 500 ml for a hallway or bedroom, and a generous 3 litres for a large living space.
