Rest Vase – Red

Prempracha's Collection has shaped stoneware ceramics in San Kamphaeng, near Chiang Mai, since 1986, still run today by the family that founded it.

For their Rest collection, the workshop worked with ceramicist Sarngsan Na Soontorn to design nine single-stem vases, each built with a wide, sculptural base beneath an opening sized for exactly one flower. The base is the point: it is where petals eventually land, so the vase keeps working long after the bloom itself has gone - through bud, through flower, through wither, resting on the ceramic below. Each of the nine forms carries only one glaze colour.

This form comes in a matt garnet red, its base spanning 22 by 22 centimetres and rising 11 centimetres. Hand-formed like every piece to leave the workshop, no two will be quite the same.
