Rest Vase – Grey

Prempracha's Collection has shaped stoneware ceramics in San Kamphaeng, near Chiang Mai, since 1986, still run today by the family that founded it.

The Rest collection came from a collaboration between the workshop and ceramicist Sarngsan Na Soontorn: nine vase forms, each with a broad base narrowing to an opening for a single stem. Rather than display an arrangement, each vase is built to hold one flower through its whole life - bud, bloom, and the eventual scattering of petals across the base beneath it. Every form in the collection is finished in a single glaze colour, chosen to match that shape alone.

This form is glazed in a glossy pewter grey, its base 21 by 21 centimetres and 10 centimetres high. As with all Prempracha ceramics, it is hand-formed, so colour and shape shift slightly from one piece to the next.
