Rest Vase – Blue

Prempracha's Collection has shaped stoneware ceramics in San Kamphaeng, near Chiang Mai, since 1986, still run today by the family that founded it.

The Rest collection is a collaboration between Prempracha's workshop and ceramicist Sarngsan Na Soontorn: nine vase forms built around a single stem rather than a full bouquet, each with a wide sculptural base beneath a narrow opening. That base is designed to catch what falls, so the vase records a flower's whole life, from bud to bloom to the petals that eventually settle on the ceramic below. Each of the nine forms is finished in just one glaze colour.

This form is glazed in a matt cobalt blue, its base 25 by 25 centimetres and rising 12.5 centimetres. Hand-formed, like all Prempracha ceramics, so each piece varies slightly from the next.
