Kintsugi Bowl – Black

Prempracha's Collection has shaped stoneware ceramics in San Kamphaeng, near Chiang Mai, since 1986, still run today by the family that founded it.

Finished in a matte black glaze traced through with fine gold seams, this bowl borrows its surface language from kintsugi - the Japanese practice of repairing breakage with lacquer and gold rather than hiding it. Here the seams are built into the glaze itself, a deliberate nod to a philosophy that treats a mended line as part of an object's history. It spans 30.5 by 33 centimetres and stands 7.8 centimetres tall.
