Antica Barbieria Colla
Antica Barbieria Colla has been Milan's barbershop since 1904, still run today by the Bompieri family.
The contradiction at the centre of most hair waxes - strong hold, but hair that feels coated and heavy - is one this formulation resolves. Its base is aloe vera juice rather than oil, which means the finish is glossy and the hold firm, without any of the weight. The wet effect without the grease.
Aloe vera also does something useful for difficult hair: it reduces frizz and helps untangle knots, making this as effective on hair that resists styling as on hair that takes to it readily.

Use
Take a small amount of product in your hands and apply it to damp or dry hair, modeling it as desired. It’s easily removed with water without leaving residues.
About the barbershop
Antica Barbieria Colla has been on Via Gerolamo Morone in Milan since 1944 - and in the city, without interruption, since 1904. Dino Colla opened the original barbieria near the Duomo that year, modelled on the private gentlemen's clubs of London. The house survived two addresses and a wartime bombing; Francesca Bompieri, whose father Franco ran it from 1975, runs it today. The product line - hair, skin, beard, shaving, and four signature colognes - traces its formulations to Colla himself, each recipe passed down and quietly refined through the generations of ownership that followed. Everything is hand-made in Italy by specialists who work in direct contact with the house.
