Artsy Plate – Black, Large

Prempracha's Collection has shaped stoneware ceramics in San Kamphaeng, near Chiang Mai, since 1986, still run today by the family that founded it.

Artsy is Prempracha's hand-painted range - each piece finished by brush rather than by dipping, so the glaze sits in deliberate strokes and pools rather than an even coat. The black ground is built up in layers, with colour worked through by hand.

This plate is worked over a black ground, 27.5 centimetres across, with colour built up in hand-applied strokes rather than an even glaze coat.
