Artsy Bowl – Black

Prempracha's Collection has shaped stoneware ceramics in San Kamphaeng, near Chiang Mai, since 1986, still run today by the family that founded it.

Artsy is painted, not dipped: the workshop builds each surface in hand-applied strokes over a dark ground, so the glaze pools and layers the way a brush does rather than settling evenly.

This bowl is worked over the same black ground, 18.5 centimetres across and 7.7 centimetres deep - deep enough for a proper serving of rice or noodles.
