The triedro - the three-sided prism of clear Murano crystal - has been the signature of the Italian wall sconce since the middle of the last century, when the workshops of the Venetian lagoon began setting it in chromed brass and sending the form out across Italy and beyond. This vintage pair carries it directly. Seven triedri rise from a polished chrome frame fitted with small chromed spheres at each anchor point, the whole reading as a slender column of light. The crystal catches the room along three planes at once - clear, dimensional, faintly architectural. Hung vertically they stand as columns. Turned on their side they become a low horizontal band of refraction above a console, a bedhead, a hallway. Two configurations, one object.
